Hi,
Can I get a few more details from you?
What city, state and zipcode are you putting in?
(The zipcode is especially important)
I’ll try it out myself and see if I can fix the problem.

As a sidenote, this address should be where you can receive mail from us. (Business Address) |

The city, state, and zip code are: Pittsburgh, PA 15205. This is the address where we receive emails. When I go back to change the city, I type in Pittsburgh and then continue, and it still shows up as Ingram.
Thanks,
John |

Hi John,
I've actually been in the process of creating this website for several years. It was only in the last couple of months that I made it available for BETA testing.
Up to this point, I've been using a zipcode list from March 2003. Apparently at that time... Ingram was the proper USPS city name for zipcode 15205.
==> That's why my program automatically reset your city name to Ingram.
-----------
I've now updated to the latest zipcode list for September 2004, and I'll be getting monthly updates from now on.
Go ahead and try it again -- let me know if it works correctly now! |

Hmmm... I'll set up a test account with an address similar to yours and see what it does.
It seems that while the code does very well in most situations... it is making some assumptions that aren't allowing you to change your city.
I'll let you know what I come up with. |

Okay!
The code was originally written to be "happy" with the first accurate city name that was submitted -- or in your case -- automatically insert the only name available for that zipcode: Ingram (Remember: I was using an old list that only had Ingram for 15205)
Then, it never allowed for changes if it had a "good" name already.
Even after I updated the zipcode list to allow Ingram, Crafton and Pittsburgh for zipcode 15205... it wouldn't let you change the name since it already had one that matched the list.
--------------
SO: I've updated the code so that if a member enters a new name, it will try and match that name to the allowed names -- and if there's a match, it should accept the new name.
Please try again to change the city name for your listing. Let me know how it goes! :) |
