I've been surfing off an on today and came across a possible problem. The link for "Visit our web site" on the "Search Results" and "Description" pages, doesn't take me to my web site. It just takes me to the "Description" page again. I did check out a listing from Flagstaff, AZ, and theirs took me to their web site. Did I miss a required entry in the registration process?

I tried this for East Coast Entertainment as well, (they're listed in the same areas I am) and their site didn't come up either.

You know what? You're right -- there is a bug there. Sort of...

During the registration process, there was a page that came after the one where you entered your website URL:

As I find the time over the next few days... I think I need to fix a couple of things:

Currently the default is to show the DJGold site rather than popup your site. I'll work on changing the default to popping up your site. That way, if someone misses it during registration, it'll happen the way you're asking for it to happen. Then if someone wants it to work the other way, they'll deliberately have to go and change it to make it happen that way.

I've discovered a problem in the way the registration/member control panel works: once you've made this selection... there's no easy way to get back to that page to change your selection. I'll have to fix that.

In the search listing, I think I need to find a slightly different wording for "Visit Our Website" for those who choose to have it go to the DJGold Info Page first. Perhaps "View Site Info"? or "Show Details"? or "Show Info Page"?

The "Get More Information" tab does take you to the "Description" page

Right.

The "Visit Our Website" link takes you to the "Description" page too -- if you don't have a separate website.

The option above is for those who DO have a website, but want customers to visit their DJGold "Description" page before they go to their website. Not really sure if that's an important option... When I get time in the next couple of days, I'll change the default to "Show My Website Right Away" + give you better access to that control.

In the meantime, here's the workaround:

Go to the Member Control Panel and select "Update Listing"
http://www.djgold.com/members/

Select the FIFTH button down on the right that says "Update SiteName"

At the bottom of that page, select the "<-- Back" button.

You'll then be at the above pictured page, and you can select "Show My Website Right Away". and then "Update Registration".

Thanks CJ, I can see now that it was operator error on my part. I remember seeing that page during registration, but I apparantly didn't read all the information.

What's that the kids say these days? MY BAD?

I too have noticed this.. I went through the process above and it still comes up with my DJGold site instead of my actual website.... BUT.. the page that comes up with my link like above... you can click on my link and it goes to my website but not automatically...

All right,

I've updated the database so that everyone's website will pop up directly from the search results page (if they have one). If a member doesn’t have a website, then the client will be directed to the DJGold site pages.

I’m working on making this the default behavior…

It's done!

Now, if you have a website: Clicking on "Go to Website" in the search results will pop up a new window with your website.

For those that don't have a website... it will sent the client to their DJGold site.

This automatic for all new registrants.

OK, question again... when I click on "Visit Our Website" it does go to our website... IF I click on "Audio Pulse Mobile DJ Service" with the gold star by it.... is that supposed to go to my website or my DJGold website?? It goes to my DJGold site as of now and so does "Get More Information" ... Is this how it is supposed to be??

Just curious of what is supposed to be linked to where... LOL

Yup, It works for me too. Of course it did before, once you educated me on the point of registration that I missed :wink: After I corrected my error it worked, and still works, fine.
