That price increase barely covers the losses from shipping costs (from Asia to Los Angeles) and the Closeouts (inventory being sold below cost).
Lots of good deals can be found around the Internet on ADJ products, if you are a bargain shopper! |

| Lets's be thankful that the prices of those products are only increasing tht small amount. Fuel prices are up over $200% in the last year, the price of oil is increasing the cost of almost everything that you touch. Yet, when was the last time that you raised YOUR prices. All legitimate businesses are raising the price of their products and services so that they can maintain profit margins. Dj's and entertainers need to be doing the same thing. Look at your costs, have they increased, did you make price adjustments to cover increased fuel costs, increased dry cleaning, equipment cost, etc? I bet 95% have not. And I would bet that a large percentage have CUT their prices! This economy is not the time to be cutting prices, it is a time to be increasing prices so that you can continue to make a living. Bottom feeders and hobby dj's aside (you will always be what you are), this is the time to take a good look at your business and revise your business plan for the next 24 to 36 months and beyond. If you don't have a business plan, or any goals, you need to get one and set some goals for the future. |

I've always thought the prices were VERY low already -- thanks to Chinese low-priced manufacturing...
A slight increase in low low prices means they'll still be pretty low priced. |

I decided to follow in the footsteps of SOUTHWEST AIRLINES:
they cut advertising costs dramatically, eliminating most Sports Franchise sponsorships and about 80% of all TV advertising.
They were able to cut FUEL COSTS by "hedging" on the price of oil. Simply put, they are paying UNDER $100 per barrel for oil until 2012.
This makes them able to charge lower fares and make higher profits!
Here's how I was able to "duplicate" SWA:
1) cut all Paid Lead Services (respond, All Wedding, Decidio, etc)....savings of $150 per month.
2) "hedging" strategy of SEO, link placement, and ORM (online reputation management).....needed to ensure a steady stream of prospects.
3) reduction of non-essential travel & expense. Meetings with clients are scheduled to reduce fuel consumption.
4) equipment & lighting purchases put on hold temporarily.
RESULT?
Higher gross revenue with lower operating costs! |
