Political functions can be fundraisers for a candidate, Election night parties, providing sound for speeches, etc.
Who has done stuff like this? How do you price these kinds of events? Do you give any kind of discounts? Any other insight or comments anyone? |

We've done lots over the years from local town politicos up to and including Jimmy Carter.
Charge what its' worth and be sure to get paid UP FRONT! Hilary's campaign has debts reported to be in the millions and fund raising has dried up. |

I've done a few. Not as many as Bill, likely, but a few. They will have a laundry list of stuff you can't do. And the bigger the politician, the worse it will be. For example, I'm told that if the President or nominee will be there, there must be a path where no temporary wiring will be underfoot or overhead, including lighting, sound, video, etc. Which means longer cable runs and no direct down lights, etc.
And be prepared for lots of changes and additions at the last minute. Since you won't likely get to bill for the add ons, plan your prices accordingly. |

| I've done a few, but definitely NO discounts for political stuff. In fact, I may pad my prices a bit to cover those unexpected little requests they make at the last minute. I've even provided my services for a couple things I disagree with, but I bite my tounge and just do my job and get paid for it. I look at it this way, at least that's some money I get to drain away from their cause and into my pocket instead. However, there are some organizations I absolutely would not work with regardless how much they offered to pay. |

I find them to be MORE rewarding than charitable functions.
Political folks have deep pockets.... they are more likely to use my services in the future. |
