Is everyine suffering this year from a lack of clients that have a budget of 300-400 dollars for a DJ?
I cannot understand where people get their idea from as it costs more to hire a sound system without a dj and music that some budgets - the most scary one recently a bride wanted 10 hours for a budget of 300-400 and said she had djs already that would do it for that...scary !

I always answer those calls with:

"Wow, sounds like you've already found steal of a deal... but be careful. You get what you pay for -- I hope what you get is what you want for your party/wedding. Have a great day!"

____________

But to answer your question: no more than usual. I'm still getting plenty of inquiries from folks who are looking for quality entertainment.

It's been especially brutal around here. Even some of the reputable DJ companies are lowballing just to keep busy. Personally, I'd rather enjoy a night home with the wife than work for nothing - and that's besically what I've been doing! I'm not opposed to adding a free upgrade if it's a quality event that I want to do, but my rate is my rate. They can either pay it, or settle for something less.

Besides, there are hockey and basketball playoffs to watch! Go Wings! Go Pistons!

Only the ppl who click on PPC are that cheap!

Studies have proven (in Northern California) that 65% of the search traffic is going for the ORGANIC (non-sponsored) S.E.R.P.'s.

The 35% who click on PPC's? They are proven less educated than the others who stick with Non-sponsored clicks.

Ever since I optimized my site, eliminating all paid lead services (except for memberships in WeDJ & Gigmasters), I've been noticing far fewer low-ballers.

In most markets, there is a huge disparity in pricing.

You have those morons at "Sensory Sounds" advertising $495 wedding DJs.

You have those "Bartletized" folks charging $1500 to $2500 a pop.

When you're in the middle, at just under $1.2k.....its like you just died & went to heaven.

CONCLUSION:

1) Content: superior SEO trumps spammy keyword stuffers every time.

2) Links: thousands of backlinks from RELEVANT sites (ones containing your similar key words)

3) Time: don't expect overnight results, because Organic SEO, like Organic Gardening ---TAKES TIME. but you reap what you sow.
