Actually, I'm building a "secondary" system from all the extra parts I have plus adding a couple ebay items that I got a good deal on. I will still have my big setup, but now I am bringing two of my old speakers and 1 of the old amplifiers out of retirement (been using them as my home theater system) and am now in the process of building up a simple portable rack with everything contained in it. I got lucky on finding a free rack that a church was getting rid of some old stuff. I've already got the amp mounted in the bottom space, and also have a Furman power conditioner at the top, an old digital effects processor next, then a small rack mountable Alesis 10 channel mixer (12 channel if you count the last two stereo channels as 2 each). I found this item on ebay from a church that was upgrading their sound system, and this mixer will be perfect for my small portable system. It also has 2 Aux sends (one pre fade for monitor, one post fade for efx.), and high/low EQ adjustment knobs.
Next, I'll need to get a CD/Cassette combo player to put in it. I have a rental for it coming up next week, so I'll probably temporarily shift the one from my big system to this while they use it (they will need CD player and two microphones for some kind of singing event they're doing).
I will also probably get another Peavey Kosmos to put in there, so it will enhance the sound, and if I ever get a request for a subwoofer to go along with the rental system, the Kosmos has a subwoofer crossover output on it, and I already have one more spare amp I can load into the rack as well. The spare amps I have are the Peavey CS800S and only weigh 25 lbs. each, so with everything else in the rack, I should easily be able to keep it well under 100 lbs.
I'll get some pics soon too. |

| Sounds like it's going to be a nice system. Which Furman unit are you using? |

| I don't remember the model number, but it is a plain one. It has the rack lights, but doesn't have the voltage level meeter. |
