| I've spent a small fortune on my DJPower system and software. I have spent literally hundreds of hours attempting to resolve problem after problem. The support is unwilling and unable to resolve my software issues. Am I alone? Is it just me? Good and Bad experiences welcome. Please don’t chime in if you referred them to me. I’m not very happy with you right now |

Uh ohhhhh.... you said not to chime in... but are you referring to me?
I know I told you I used it, but I do remember conversations with you about the problems I was having and how I was looking at other programs to replace it. I haven't found any other programs that have every feature I want either.
In fact, I believe we even discussed how I would write my own program, if I only had the time.

The only serious problem that I have with DJ Power is the Dongle. It is such a serious problem, that I am looking for another program to replace it. I'm simply not willing to put up with it.
I'm also planning on changing out my equipment. I'm going to put together my rig all over again. It'll be more portable, better looking, lighter, and faster to setup. (yeah, that's a little off topic.) |

I'm undergoing the same downsizing/upgrading process with my equipment. I can't wait to get it together the way I want it.
The DJPower dongle prevents a person from having a reasonable backup. Even if you purchase a second dongle, you can't interchange them between computers -- you need to contact DJPower by phone to get a new keycode if you want to swap dongles or equipment -- and that's hard to do, as mentioned in the original post by Rexpert.
I've been trying out quite a collection of other programs in an effort to replace DJPower. I've found a few that have most of the same features.... but nothing out there is "perfect". |

| CJ - I'd like to hear what the criteria you're using in your search, as well as the pros and cons of the candidates you've considered. Could I talk you into a new thread? |

We DJs don't ask for much. We pay good money for products that we expect to work as promised. When the product doesn't work, we only expect support. When I first purchased my rackmount system with all the bells and whistles I was promised the world and was told it would resolve all the issues. Instead nothing worked as promised and I was left without a working system and no support to resolve the issues. I was told to reduce the number of songs in my database. To not use or change the options. And to purchase more memory to resolve programming issues. It was mentioned earlier that they had a booth at the LV show. I made a last futile attempt to resolve issues in person in LV. In the middle of our discussion a potential client approached and I was given the cold shoulder. I was rudely ignored as the new sale was more important than a paying customer. If you are in any way interested in the DJ Power products, I strongly encourage that you do the research and read the numerous logs of discontented customers. It’s not worth a fraction of the cost. It certainly is not worth spending your valuable time dealing with a product that is defective.....
By the way.... CJ I was referring to that fella who's name rhymes with Smacks. |

Yep... "Smax" has posted here a time or two. Maybe it was just twice...
I stopped paying for his forum membership, and I've been using everything except DJPower recently in an effort to find something I really like.
I do want to get the upgrade to the latest version -- just to have it. Hopefully it will fix one or two more bugs (out of hundreds.)
I guess we'll get the chance to bug "Dr. Schmax..." next week? :P |

But "Smax" says it's the absolute best software available.... ;)
I wanted to use it very badly several years ago, but like PCDJ, it never worked properly for me on my system (the DJP demo or the full PCDJ d1200SL software).
Ots never gave me the problems I've had with so many other softwares available (Even VDJ).
I know it's not up everyones alley, but I think it's the most stable DJ app available for me. It doesn't have all the features, but I can rely on it day in and day out. |

I agree with Jeff. I tried DJP and PCDJ years ago and could not get them to work. I've been an OTSDJ user since 2000 and for my use it is the best. Never ONCE in 8 years has it crashed my systems.
Sorry you are having problems. |

We've been using OTS for Music and Karaoke for 6 years and I just can't say enough about it. It performs flawlessly night in and night out. It has NEVER crashed on us, never even a glitch or burp.....and there is NO latency. It plays what you select instantly. We have upgraded from PC's to Laptops and again to newer laptops and had nothing but friendly professional support from OTS to help us through. This is a great program....we highly recommend it.
Cheers |
