PS: Hey, Johnny "MusicDoctor"...Your shots that you put up continue to AMAZE me, and they really translate well on my screen.

I would love to see more.

Do you have any others I can access and see on line?

Are you all digital? What dpi is that pic above?

Thanks for the compliment!

I rarely shoot with film anymore . . . most all of my photos nowadayz are shot with either my 4 or 6 megapixel cameras!

The photo currently (as of today's date 12-29-2004) in my sig was shot from my front yard!

Being this close to the Rocky Mountains presents me with many opportunities for lots of scenic shots!

Many of which I never have to leave the yard!

I currently don't have a photo page on my website . . . but perhaps I'll make one soon!

In the meantime . . . I'll post a couple more here . . . all of which were taken from right here in our yard!

I've got more for later!

:hahaha:

Wow!

This is cool!

I can start threads without actually starting them!

Must be that telepathy thing my wife accuses me of!

Sorry I haven't been around too much lately . . .

We are in the process of moving (won't have that gorgeous view anymore :bigcry: ) and the computer has been hooked up at our new (actually old . . . we've owned the house for 8 years) since last week!

This weekend is when we will officially be living over here . . .

So . . . I'll check in when I can!

And, I hope to have some new photos soon to put up!

Here's a good wallpaper photo for ya . . .

Set the background of you desktop to black, the use the photo below for the wallpaper!

However, instead of choosing to have the photo full screen, choose 'center' in the lower right hand corner of the display property window!

Then arrange your icons around it like planets or moons!

That's the way I have my monitor set up . . .

DO you use filters or photoshop to get some of the effects?

I use PhotoShop 7a, but not for creating effects . . .

Usually for resizing, cropping, lightening or darkening . . . that's it!

With film shots I occasionally use the blur or clone tool to get rid of dust spots.

I've never been much of a filter guy . . . so never use them!

The only filters I carry in my film camera bag is a polorizer, 80A and an FLD!

For digital I never use filters . . .

Most of the shots I posted here are pretty much straight out of the camera without any manipulation.

I was a newspaper photographer for many years (in Jackson, Michigan), so I learned to get the shot I was after on the fly . . . because you don't normally have time to think about which filter to use . . . or the guide number of the flash . . . that kind of stuff!

Plus, I've always done my own darkroom work, which also gives you a different perspective on how film and exposure affect each other over those who have never been in a darkroom or developed their own film!

I got into photography in 1972 (when I was 12) after watching a family friend make black and white prints in his own darkroom!

I knew then and there what I wanted to do when I grew up . . .

Plus, my grandmother was an ambulance chaser (ie- glued to the police scanner)!

When I was a kid we saw just about every big fire or car accident in town . . . so that was already in my blood!

So the newspaper thingy was the perfect solution to both passions.

I bought my first Canon F1 when I was 14 years old . . . and still have it to this day!

Matter of fact . . . here it is (see below)!

I took this picture last summer (digital) for a post on another chat board . . .

The dent on the prism was what I was pointing out . . .

This dent was caused after I bashed a guy over the head with this camera when he came after me while I was taking his picture getting arrested!

He broke away from the cops, as did another guy who was being arrested, and they tried to attack me and the police reporter from the newspaper!

Which is why you find all newspaper photogs with those heavy duty cameras . . .

Our final sunet in Boulder, Colorado . . .

As you know, we have been moving the last couple of weeks . . .

I took this shot last night (1-28-05) as I was putting the last load of cRap from our garage into the truck!

I'll miss the view . . .

But I'm sure it's time for me to find something else to take pictures of!
