|
|
Hey everyone,
I just completed an update of my web site, adding 8 new links to my links page and revising the meta tags.
one of the new links is in "Various States" : linking to DJ Gold.com
The other was in "Virginia" and is a direct link to CJ's web site (Smithfield DJs)....as a bonus for CJ providing this valuable resource for DJs.
I strongly suggest that anyone who has "counted links" from DJ Gold in their Yahoo Site Explorer, should reciprocate and provide link(s) to DJ Gold.
Its been suggested that "Relevant Reciprocals" (links back & forth between DJ related sites) will count MORE under Google's new algorithm than ever before.
Make your DJ Gold posts worth $$$ to your site: RECIP TO DJ GOLD. |

Although I see your point. Won't irrelevant links for your clients just clutter up your site?
I personally wanna keep my links as useful and relevant to my clients needs, as I possibly can.
Case in point: I know another California DJ who's site is a mess with inbound and outbound links (we're talking WAY TOO many), yeah his site has a decent PR, but I'm sure his site scares of many clients as it scared me off.
It's ugly, confusing, and just looks like on of those spam sites that is nothing but google adwords.
I think I do more good adding relevant, useful content, and threads to DJGold rather than a link that only google may care about.
*P.S. Nice to have finally meet you (well over the phone at least) DJMC |

On my site, the links page is titled "DJS ACROSS THE U.S.A.", its organized alphabetically by state.
As long as the links are to "Relevant" sites (wedding, karaoke, music, DJ, disc jockey, entertainment, etc) that mirror the key words on your site.
For example, my site could conceivably link OUT to American Idol, if the words on their site were similar (not sure, havent checked).....and Google would reward me for linking to a "relevant" site.
Similarly, a site that said "Wedding Bands" or "Wedding xxxxxxx" is going to be relevant, even though they're a different line of vendor.

DJ Sean -- I think I know the cluttered website you're talking about.
DJMC's website is different -- he has a separate page that has all of his links.
I do the same on several of my websites. The main pages for guests don't have those links, but at the bottom of the page (and hidden elsewhere), there are links to my "links page" that the search engines will find and follow, and it's on that page that all of my links to DJ-type sites are displayed. |

Hey, you know it wouldn't hurt to put a link out to my PR 3 site.
I've found that sites with PR 3 or higher carry lotsa link juice!!! :) :) :) |

Ok I see how that could work. |

We'd like to link up with other DJ's as well. We're based in Chilliwack, BC , Canada and currently have several links to other DJs. They are all together at the moment, but I will be creating a new page for regional links.
If anyone wants to link up, please drop us a line at phatboyz@shaw.ca and check out our website at www.phatboyz.ca
