Do they have one with an equivalent ouput of a 250W halogen? LED technology is coming along rather well now, but I think they need to do a little more development before I take the plunge. They need to be just a little brighter for my needs. But at only $150 each, that's still a great price for that type light show.

Keep in mind wattage is not the only measure of light output. Voltage, filament type, reflector and gasses also affect the output of a lamp.

These are as bright as the 64514 lamp used in the Vertigo and Avenger fixtures.

I'm not familiar with how the Vertigo and Avenger look, but since you did compare it to a 150W hallogen, I kept with that same comparison type in saying I'd prefer the equivalent of at least 250W halogen. A 150W MSD type bulb would blow the pants off a 250W halogen, so I'm just saying I like the LED effects, but at this time feel they just aren't quite bright enough to compare with their conventional bulb counterparts. In the video showing the lights, I wonder how well it would show up in a partially lit room. In a totally dark room, it doesn't take much to seem like a lot of light, but when there's a good deal of ambient light, you need brighter fixtures to show up well.

Here's a real life video of a pair of Chauvet's VUE 3's used as a backdrop.

Yes, the room is dark but the effect is spectacular.

Wow, that is a good effect. Very dark room though. I seldom ever get a room that dark. Most of the time I'm in a room with lots of windows that let in all kinds of outdoor lights from street lights to sun still going down light, etc.

Right now, my "intelligent lights" are some Chauvet Insignia and Intimidator. They aren't super bright by any means, but are "ok". Would you say the VUE 3 is at least as bright as these?

The Vue series will keep up with the Intimidator and Insignia very nicely.
