Ok everyone here's the problem. My desktop that I use for music will not come on. I get a blue screen telling me windws detected a problem and shut down to keep harm from my computer. First question does anyone know how I can go in and reformat the hard drive? Second question is if I purchase a external hard drive could I load winxp onto it and use that hard drive instead of the internal hard drive? If anyone could help please do so. Thanks s much.

You might want to try to run a recovery instead of going straight to a rebuild. Also, if you Google for bootable usb harddrive, you should be able to find a procedure for setting up an external hard drive. Not sure that's the best way to go about it, but if that's what you want, Google should be able to get you started.
