i am taking the leap into the world of multi op. i have a few questions to my multi op peers here on the board.
how do you answer/address the question "who will be my dj?" do you carry bio's or have that dj attend the meeting as well?
what do you list as your selling points? as a single op i used to say "i am your dj, you don't have to worry about who will show at your event"
if someone can share some tips on do's and don'ts it would be greatly appreciated. your exp. can save me alot of headache!
thanks in advance. |

I'm not a multi, but if I were, I would try to schedule 3 meetings with the client. The first would establish the client's needs and wants, and allow her to pick out the DJ she and you think will work best based on bios and discussion. Then, if she doesn't book right away, I'd set up a meeting with the client, yourself, and the chosen DJ. If she books then, the third meeting would be with the client and DJ alone to go over the event's agenda and music.
I would HOPE you'd be able to say, "DJ X is your dj, you don't have to worry about who will show at your event." PLEASE DON'T bait and switch! |

I would have the DJ attend the meeting. This gives the client the oppertunity to meet and talk to the one that will be doing there event. I would let your DJ answer any questions that pertain to the details of the event because each DJ tend to handle details a little different. You should answer all the questions that pertain the the service in general.

Some DJs are better for wedding events while others are better for school events, corperate events. Myself....I'm a wedding DJ... so when the client wants my service for a school event I let them know about my DJ that is highly experiance with school events. When it comes down to school events, he is better then me. Not saying that I can't do a school event, he is just the better at it.
Put your best talent with the event that they are good at. Your selling point could be "We have the best talented professionals for your event." or 'We have specialized DJs for your type of event." |
