| Thanks John! As a DJ myself, I know how hard it is to switch something you've been used to using for years--whether it's a CD player, mixer or music service. So we want to give people the opportunity to try us out with only a 3-month obligation. |

Jim,
Could this special in any way keep me from getting the 10% discount for prepaying the year starting Jan 2007?
The funny thing is, after speaking with you a while ago, I was ready to get started by paying the regular monthly rate for the weekly subscription through the end of 2006 (including some back issues to start me retroactively in July), then start an annual subscription at the 10% off discount in January 2007 (since I like to start all annuals in January). I was told by the local sales rep that I couldn't do this -- that if I start paying monthly, I would not get the discount when I chose to go annually.
It was a VERY odd sales tactic. I could either wait to start an annual subscription in January, or be penalized for starting this past July. Until this 3-month trial came along, I had decided to wait. In essence, the sales rep simply turned down an easy sale of a 6 months subscription because of some odd regulation.
Can you guarantee that my 3-month subscription would in no way jeopardize my prepayment discount if I annualize in January?
Also, can you explain the purpose of that odd regulation?

This wasn't a 'sales tactic' rather the way our system works. I'll do my best to explain...
Our contracts (for DJs) are for one year and then go month-to-month for up to 2 more years. During the 1st year you are able to go up in value (add services or change for same value) but you can't go down. So, if you were to sign-up now and then want to pay out the entire year in January you would be welcome to do so but Rob wouldn't be able to lower your rate since your contract would be less than 1 year old.
This policy has been in place long before I was there and can't tell you for sure the reasoning behind it but my guess is if you've agreed to X dollars for X period of time you to spend at least that amount or more. If you want to spend less not only is it money off our books that we thought you'd be spending but it's also lost man hours as someone has to enter a new contract in our system, our accounting department has to process it, put the paperwork in your file, etc.
If you really want to get this started now and are definitely going to pay a year in full in January drop me an e-mail and send me your paperwork and I'll get it handled for you. This is a special circumstance we don't normally get and Rob isn't able to approve it but I can. |

Jim,
Quote: Our contracts (for DJs) are for one year and then go month-to-month for up to 2 more years.
I can still pay annually at the 10% discount rate even after the first year, can't I? I know most customers would prefer monthly billing but I prefer a one-time charge in January each year, especially when I can save 10%.
Quote: Rob wouldn't be able to lower your rate since your contract would be less than 1 year old.
I would have been willing to agree to a 18 month contract at the 10% off rate starting in July, prepaying for 6 months (including a couple back issues) and then prepaying for the remaining 12 months in January, but that option wasn't offered to me. I didn't offer it myself because I didn't quite understand the reason that I was turned down.
In my mind, never let accounting procedures get in the way of gaining a new customer. I was willing to pay full rate for the first 6 months.
As for starting my subscription now, I have the 3-month trial form completed. Just PM me your direct fax number.
Thanks,
Donny |

Yes.

You weren't turned down...Rob was just relaying our company policy to you, which is if you start at X dollars you can't pay less than that for 12 months.
All of our contracts for DJs are up to 36 months. Basically, you can cancel anytime after 12 months. However, if you don't cancel it will keep going up to 36 months. So he wouldn't be able to do the 18 month contract either.
Why are our agreements like that? A big reason is to save you from having to renew every year and it saves us a lot of paperwork & time too. We are much more flexible in the DJ industry (letting you cancel anytime after a year without penalty) than we are with our radio agreements.

Something almost all of our subscribers are very happy with is our customer service. I moved almost 1000 miles to work for TM Century because I believed so much in the products & the customer service. With that said, we do have certain policies in place and must adhere to them. We try to be flexible, which is why I was going to resolve the situation for you by giving you the discount starting in July and then pre-paying in January. That's something I'm able to approve on an occasional basis but not something Rob can do.

I checked with Rob and he still has your original form. If you'd like to use that to start with July (with 10% off) and pay monthly until January and then pre-pay the entire year at 10% off we can do that. If you'd just like to do the trial you can fax that to me at 972-739-4043.
Thanks-

Can existing Prime Cuts subscribers switch to the yearly payment plan?
If so, might just do that. |

John:
You can but you wouldn't receive any discount for doing so. We have offer discounts for a variety of things (paying yearly, being a member of a specific organization or website, show specials, etc.) and our discounts are not combinable--much like when you get a coupon for something that says not combinable with other coupons/offers.
I see on your account you have 2 recurrent services you added when we did the $1 special so you're saving $9.90 per month with that.
If you want to just for the convenience of getting it out of the way just let me know and I'll get you the form to fill out. |

Jim,
In John's case, can he choose to cancel the two recurrent services and then sign up for the yearly plan at the 10% discount if he wishes?
I doubt he would do that, but I just want to understand your policy.
Donny
PS. Jim, did you get my fax for the trial subscription? |

David:
Rob got your order & it has been processed--thanks!
Donny:
If his current agreement is more than 12 months old, yep, he's more than welcome to do that.
Yep, Rob got your order and has it started at the beginning of October so it ends Dec. 31. That way he can start your new 1 year subscription with Jan. 1 like you wanted. So you should get your 1st disc the 2nd week of October.
Thanks-
Jim |

Having been a subscriber of Prime Cuts since January 2005, probably won't do the yearly thing. Wasn't fishing for a discount whatsoever. Using the GoldDiscs as a CD backup gives me all the hits on a couple recent discs instead of trying to find them on individual Prime Cuts.
Plus, every so often there's a remix or edit not on the Prime Cuts. Examples:
D.H.T's Furious F. EZ Radio edit of Listen To Your Heart was on GoldDisc but not on PC. Recently, there was an edit of "Lips Of An Angel" on GoldDisc that wasn't on PC.
Also, HIGHLY recommend the Smooth Jazz series from Prime Cuts to supplement your subscriptions. Fantastic opportunity to keep your Jazz music fresh and up-to-date! |

Great plan from Prime Cuts.
This makes it even more affordable for the Deejays to get their music legitimately!
Now there is no excuse!
And the Prime Cuts compiulation is right on target. You get the the radio edit hits that you can play at any event.
A definite win - win combination! |
