It's getting close to the time when we need to create our knowledge base and start putting educational information in one spot where everyone can easily find it.
I like the idea of "DJGold University" but I thought I'd ask for everyone's input.
I also don't want to "step on any toes" -- other DJ websites might have something similar and I don't want anyone to feel like we're ripping them off.
Is it unique enough? Does it sound right?
... would you put a DJGold University sticker in your car's back window? :?: |

Do you mean like this one at prodj.com? http://dju.prodj.com/
They have quite a bit of good info there. I would like to see this site have something similar, but I don't know if it would be (as you say) a rip off or not. |

Generally, in order for any site to continue to draw traffic, it needs a variety of things to offer visitors/members.
So yes, a knowledge base section would be highly recommended. I would think that the "University" name is over-used. Maybe a little brainstorming for a different name for this section could be started. Considering my brain is very tired this morning, I don't have anything to start it off with; maybe later. |

Welcome DJ Daddy to the new board in town!
Yes, I agree that the word "University" is over-used for the following reasons:
1) you don't NEED a college diploma to be a good DJ. (I have two college degrees but they only made me more literate and a better public speaker due to drama and speech courses)
2) "University" has an elitist sort of ring to it. (My daugher wants to go to Stanford University, because she wants to trump her old man who went to UC Davis and Santa Clara University)
3)can't we come up with something different?
I propose that we call it "Fort Knox: The DJ Gold Knowledge Vault"
(and if we use it, I'd like my THIRD STAR please---LOL) ;) |

One could do a lot with Fort Knox...I like the line taken here - how about DJ Gold's Treasure Chest?
Howdy, Matt. I've noticed some familiar names and some that I've haven't seen in a while. Like the avatar of the "Killer Kitten" - it's the same one that my son uses on his little webpage as an avatar. Too bad one can't get more detail in that little pix. |

All right... so far we have
The DJ Gold Knowledge Center
(...because knowledge is GOLD!)
DJ Gold's Treasure Chest
ROOM 101
Fort Knox: The DJ Gold Knowledge Vault
Fort Knox - The DJ Gold Knowledge Center
Gold Spin U
... and ...
DJGold knowledge nuggets
---------------------
Do any of these "hit home"... or do we need to keep brainstorming a little more? |

| Personally I like a little simpler version of a couple already given, i.e.: Gold's Treasure or Knowledge Nuggets. Doesn't say a lot, yet says it all. |

The DJ Gold Knowledge Center
(...because knowledge is GOLD!)
I like this one best - with or without the tag line, parenthises or word "The".
---
DJ Gold's Treasure Chest
"Treasure Chest" sounds like an 'adult toy' store. Hmmm... Is that good or bad? |

Stop killing yourself over the name. You already have a name. DJ Gold. Just add a word and you're set.

Quote: Fort Knox: The Solid Gold University/Institute/College of Valuable Knowledge & 24 Karat Nuggets of Enlightenment You've got to be kidding.
I hope that this current new name for this forum is temporary.
Perhaps it was meant just for a laugh :?: |

You couldn't possibly take that seriously, could you? :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha:
I just tried to combine most of the suggestions into one name.
(Still trying to figure out the right name...!) |
