I have a unique situation. A bride with a handicapped Dad who is unable to take part in the traditional Father of the Bride dance. Father and daughter are very close and I want to replace the usual dance with something else that will be meaningful to both of them. I've thought of dedicating special songs to each other and/or having them write their feelings down to be read either by themselves or by me. I've even considered recording them and putting it to music.

I'd like to make this really special for them. any ideas anyone?

okay jack i'm gonna take a swing at this.

get her to either say a few words or have her write them down and you read it with "butterfly kisses" in the background. have her end it with a big kiss for him.

this will be a tear jerker! i love these moments.

end it by having her on the mic invite all the father/daughters in the house to the dance floor to have a special dance. on the mic emphasize the special relationship between fathers and daughters.

i did a wedding where the dad was dead, she read a speach and invited fathers and daughters to apprecriate their blessings on the dance floor.

we make memories !!!!!

Hi David. This was exactly what I had in mind. I love the addition of having the bride invite all the fathers and daughters to the dance floor. I hadn't considered that. I might even suggest to the Bride that her new father-in-law steps in midway through the song. to finish the dance with her. More symbolism. Great idea! Thanks for sharing.

Here's an example of having a problem and thinking of it as an opportunity to do something different and unique.
