Hey all, im playing an event this saturday that has just requested a large ammount of "Cuban Music".

Do any of you have any song suggestions, or any points in the right direction for aquiring this type of music? Unfortunately i have none.

Artist names, and song titles would be great, along with any ideas on where i might be able to buy some compilations at the local cd store.. i would hate to resort to *gasp* downloading if i can avoid it.

TIA!

Tell me do you mean Cuban music or Latin music. I mean Cuban music is just for the Cuban people, but you might have people from Columbia, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, I need more info. I will be glad to assist you anyway I can. I need to know what other Nations will be there other than Cubans. I am Cuban myself so that will be easy for me but how about your other guests?

Answer these for me.

1- What type of event?
2- What Nationalities will be present?
3- Where are you Located?

I need this Info to give you a good list for your event.

I would say:

Celia Cruz
Tito Puente Jr.
Hector Lavoe
Ruben Blades
Willie Colon

just off the top of my head....

throw in some:

Illegales
Fulanito
Suavemente by Elvis Crespo
Maria by Ricky Martin

I'm brain farting on the rest, but I suppose Freddy will be able to fill in the rremainder once you define the parameters of "Cuban Music"

My guess is that you mean "Salsa/Merengue", anything that carribean latinos will dance to!

this is a "cuban themed" live auction fundraiser night. most of the people will be white, or asian, and a few mexicans... all in the 30-40 age range, all married, parents of children. the fundraiser is for a school

they want some "cuban" and i use that term loosely, or latin music to go along with the theme of the night.. i need a few hours worth to pepper in with soem older rock, and top 40.

does that help?

thanks again,

Matty

Glad to hear you purchased something, sorry I was late but I have been busy and away from my PC lately. I will post the great must have Latin songs today, so be on the lookout and print your copy.

Borders usually carries an excellent collection of world music. Try them next time.
