Looks Great!
Need some help --- I'm assuming that the search engine has a parameter of mileage (or maybe area code) from the home-base town. -- Mine needs a little expansion -- we handle gigs up to 200 miles from home. We handle some of West Texas as well as Central Oklahoma.
Can you assist?
Thanks |

Hi Peter, (I got your email too.)
Yes, there will be the ability to expand the search area out to a certain extent. You can read this post to get a better idea of where we're going with this search engine (it's still in BETA test) and what's yet to come:

Make sure to also read the links to my philosophies on Local vs. National listings, and Free vs. Paid.

Thanks for helping with the BETA testing! 8) |

Thanks for your quick reply!
Please feel free to move my posting to the other thread -- I hadn't seen it.
I totally agree that a Variable would be best -- (up to a cetain # of miles) for some of us.
Thanks so much for allowing us to have a good forum! |

Thanks.
I'm still working on the variable-distance selection program. I'll notify everyone who showed interest in it as soon as it's ready for testing.

| Count me in... Nevada is mostly rural, so our coverage area is larger out of necessity. |

Me too! Me too!!!
I'm in a unique position, geographically, for California.
I'm located 35 minutes from Truckee California on Interstate 80
I'm only 85 minutes from Reno Nevada
therefore, it would be nice to be able to reach brides in Reno because for me, its the same distance as going to the SF Bay Area. |

OK, I'll tell you the same thing I told Franz:
"You've got the whole winter (November thru March), that's 5 whole months, to yourself.... when Donner Pass clears (April thru October) I'm a-comin!"
this year alone, we did 3 events at the Reno Hilton. Once in the Silver State Pavilion (EZ), twice in the Nevada Ballroom #5 (ouch!)
not like we're doing that many events up in Reno/Tahoe; its something like 10% of our wedding clients. |

Hey don't laugh.....I've got a 1000 mile radius in Gigmasters....it comes in handy because I can refer the outer Mongolia USA gigs to DJs who are my friends on the DJ boards! |

No prob, Matt. It looks like I may be at the Old Sac Firehouse next Spring. Saw me at a Tahoe wedding this past summer. In negotiations now... BUT... if my price ends up being too high, I know who to refer her to.
BUT FYI... I definitely don't cater to Sac. Just too far for me to go. I wanna be with my kids after the wedding too! |
