Hi all,

Here's kind of a weird question....how do you get your stuff into a hall?

I've been using a 2 wheeler for years but lately I've really been thinkin' of switching over to one of those convertible 4 wheelers. The GOOD ones by Magliner are aluminum and a little pricey, I've got a 2 wheel Magliner now.

Anyone use the Rock n' Roller convertible cart or something like it? What's your experience with it? Are they made well or can't hold up?
Anybody recommend another brand?

Opinions please. :?:

See ya.

I use a standard ole 2 wheeler. I find it to be the fastest way to grab a speaker and start rolling with it. No messing with picking it up and setting it on a 4 wheel cart or something like that, plus the 2 wheeler is the max in mobility for tight corners and especially elevators.

The Rock-N-Rollers, as well as some others, convert from 2 to 4. The latest units have four pneumatic tires which makes them easy to move around.

I have heard of some venues not allowing "hard" wheels. That would make the 4 pneu's look pretty good.

I would recommend the new 4 wheel pneumatic ones that are convertible to a normal 2 wheel hand truck. Get the strongest available.

Then you are set for most all venues. Avoid the non-convertible flat bed ones as they have limited use in my opinion (spoken from one who has one parked in his garage...)

Have used Rock n Rollers for years... they will handle up to 500 pounds per cart per load in the 4 wheel position. I will say they older one's, made in Italy, hold up much better from a maintenance standpoint, than the newer one's made by a distributor here in the US (old = grey/red, new = yellow/black). We've already broken a couple wheels on the newer units.

The real advantage is the adjustable length of the rock n roller to make it suitable for smaller, tighter turns, or a bigger venue.

You should also consider what it is you're putting on there. Not only the weight, but the size. If you're loading in double 18" subs on a regular basis, a sturdy 2 wheeler would probably work better.

Thanks for all the replies so far everybody.
Yes, it's true, the plain old 2 wheeler is very manuverable, it's just that lately, I sure would like to make fewer trips in and out. A 4 wheeler would do that for me.
I had some doubts about the rock-n-roller when I seen it, that expandable length deal seemed too good to be true.
Anyone using convertible Magliners?
See ya.

i use a convertable 4 wheeler that i got from Sams for about $50 bucks. i have had it 2 years and it only has one drawback.... the "pin" that must be removed and inserted to switch back and forth between 2 - 4 wheeler. Other than that it has been problem free.

I prefer the two wheel hand truck. But that may simply because that's what I've used all these years - and that I was able to score one for free 19 years ago. I'm still using the same one. Prior to that, I was lifting and carrying. Including 6 milk-crates of vinyl! How dumb was I?

And I agree about the pneumatic wheels. They go over bumps, gravel, grass and other obstacles real easy.

I have a Rock-N-Roller and am very pleased with it. I especially appreciate having the large pneumatic wheels when rolling equipment over rough terrain (lawns, gravel, etc.). It replaced a travel-trolley (as seen on TV!) which I received as a gift. Don't waste your money on one of those... I got tired very quickly of getting my fingers pinched when trying to fold and unfold that blasted contraption!

By the way, for a good selection of platform and hand trucks, try:
