Do you have two 4 channel controllers? Just use what you got till you see which lights you use (analog or DMX) the most?
I do use a co-pilot and like it for what it does. But that being said it does have its limits. The chase is the same pattern (no changing it either), nor can you dim the lights (Par-cans) they are either on or off.
I am looking in to getting something that dims and has a random or changable chase pattern. I am not sure that I need to go full DMX but you never know (what the wife will approve) what I might find. |

The Co-pilot is a good choice, and Chauvet and others makes similar models for around the same price. Any of them will probably do what you want.
However, if you're considering going to DMX one day, do it now and use DMX-addressable power packs instead of the Co-pilot. It makes things a little less simple NOW, but you don't have to throw anything away later when you start adding intelligent fixtures. |
