| Yep, I finally got it done! The Bartmobile is now a 6 speed automatic via a TH350 3 speed auto and a Gearvendors Under/Overdrive 2 speed auxiliary transmission. The rear axle used to have 2.57 gears (I thought they were 2.63, but turns out they were really 2.57 Richmond gears, and C clip eliminators were also already on this axle) but now it has 3.42 Richmond gears. I can chirp the tires shifting from 1st to 1st-over too. Pics and possibly a video clip comming soon. This is my daily driver and what I use to pull the trailer with all my sound and lights. |

Gas milage should be about the same when just driving around, but pulling the trailer is where I hope to see a little benefit in gas milage. |

Ok, I finally got a decent video shot demonstrating shifting through all the gears (except the final overdrive shift - ran out of record time just before the final shift). But you still get a good idea of what it's like.
20 MPH to 70 MPH at a leisurly rate of accelleration, just to demonstrate the shifting pattern...
1st
1st-over
2nd
2nd-over
3rd
3rd-over

I might make another vid some time showing how it barks the tires from 1st to 1st-over if I'm giving it full throttle. |
