Bridal Show Follow-Up Letters

Postby CJ Greiner » Sun Mar 19, 2006 11:05 am

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago, we did a bridal show where we eventually received the entire mailing list for every bride & guest that attended.

Attached is the first of several letters that we'll mail out to get their business. I also included a flyer from the ADJA, "10 questions to ask before hiring your DJ".

What follow-up letters do you send out? What info and structure do you include?

Thanks,

As I posted on another board, nice job CJ.

As we talked about Act! in another thread, you could design a template in Act! and actually customize your follow-up letter to include their names, wedding date and perhaps even banquet facility.

Hi CJ,

I usually send out the same flyers I use at the show, but, I include a discount coupon with it to try to sweeten the pie a little. The "10 question" flyer is a great idea. Can anyone get a copy of it or do you have to be a member?

The name list of attendees at the show is nice to get, and , right now, it's my sole source of prospects. Check out my other post "Another Bridal Show question", see what you think.

See ya.

As a member of the ADJA, you're entitled to 50 free flyers per year. You can order more from them at a fairly cheap rate.

Remember my thread about Body Language?

Apparently not.

The photo needs to be flipped or moved to the left side of the page.

While the content looks good, I would edit it to avoid that single word on a line at the end of the second paragraph. Business letters and longer items don't need that word of scrutiny, but when you're doing flyers with only a couple paragraphs, that sort of thing should be avoided.

Unless CJ's wife wrote the content. Perhaps in the center of the page with the text below it?

Doesn't matter if CJ's wife wrote it. She is standing straight facing the camera. CJ is standing in profile. Therefore he should not have his back to the message.

If they were both in profile, facing each other, THEN it wouldn't matter. Or at least matter much less.

Actually, I agree with you TB... I'll either reverse the photo or put it on the left side for the rest of the mailings. Thanks. 8)

Is this a show you personally organized CJ? Or, was it in conjunction with a Bridal Shop or radio station?

This show was put on by our local Town-Owned convention hall. I did the sound & lights, DJ'd the music, read the script and hosted the event.

People have been calling -- "hey, I recognized your picture from the Wedding Show"...
