Numark DDS80 or CDN77USB or HDMIX Media Controller

Postby Robert » Wed Apr 18, 2012 11:51 am

Thinking of getting one of these to replace my Denon setup. I like the idea I can use this to store lots of music and not have to carry or dsplay a laptop to the general public. I feel more like a DJ when not using a laptop.

Is the quality and reliability good on the above? Any setbacks to consider?

Numark is no where near the quality of Denon.
Thanks,

Gotta agree - I've enjoyed Denon products for years - work like a champ!

So what brands/model numbers do you suggest that fit the needs I'm seeking?

Hi Robert,

Don't know if you're still looking, but check out Ebay, or some of the music equipment dealers sites, and see if you can pick up a Denon DN HD2500.
I picked up one a few years back, they're discontinued now. It's got a 40 GB HDD in it, but also can control the 4500 drive deck if you still want to play CDs.

I know 40 GB doesn't sound like much, but I've got 2,200 tunes loaded onto mine with almost half the drive still empty ! You can also plug a larger external HDD to it and bring your whole library with you. I didn't want to lug a laptop around just to ditch CDs, so I bought one of these.

It DOES take a while to learn, but once you get it, it's a pretty neat machine.

Good luck.
