Sorry I haven't been around lately . . .

I've basically retired from the DJ biz . . . only did one gig this year.

As for cameras, there are so many new ones out there it is hard to peg some favorites.

I have added three DSLR's to my camera bag . . . and Olympus E-510, a Pentax *ist DS and a Pentax K10D.

Right now, the newest achievements in the digital camera world is the new micro 4/3 (m4/3) system, which I think will revolutionize and make the DSLR world as we know it extinct in the future.

The m4/3 system right now is Panasonic and Olympus, comprising of smaller cameras with interchangable lenses that have DSLR-sized image sensors and will no longer have the traditional mirror box and focal plane shutter, but with high resolution electronic viewfinders instead!

Panasonic just released their first m4/3 camera . . . the G1:

And a high definition model due out next year . . .

Should be interesting, to be sure!

Read more about it here: http://www.dpreview.com/previews/panasonicG1/

Samsung has announced they are working on their own version of this, and you can rest assured that Nikon and Canon are doing the same!

Haven't been around here in awhile . . . kinda took the last year off from DJing.

Here is a shot I took a week ago today from my deck while grilling chicken on the BBQ:

Wow, I can't believe it has been this long since I stopped by!

It has been a little over four years since I did my last DJ gig, so I haven't been visiting the DJ chats as much as I used to!

I will be dusting off my headphones next month to do a wedding for one of my co-workers . . . should be interesting and fun!

Anyway . . . here are two recent photos I just shot last Friday (two weeks to the day of the shootings) of the now infamous movie theater where 12 people were killed plus one unborn baby that also died as a result of the shootings during the premiere of the new Batman movie!

I drive by that area on my way home from work a couple of times per week!

Interesting what life brings to us . . .

Part of the reason I've been pretty quiet is that in October of 2010 I had a stroke!

It was definately a life changer!

I quit smoking cold turkey after 30 years of two packs a day (four days in ICU was a good kick in the rear end) . . . I now have to take medications and my blood pressure daily for the rest of my life . . . not to mention a food dietary change!

I also had a job change late last year . . .

Life is short, as I now realize!

Wow . . .

Once again it has been awhile since I dropped by.

Haven't done a gig since the last one I mentioned above (3 1/2 years ago), but I will be dusting off the headphones and doing a couple of small gigs in Tucson, Arizona in three weeks.

Should be fun!

By the way . . . here is our new home away from home . . . and our new favorite place - Blue Mesa, Colorado:
