A review from a different board I visit....

I just got back from NAMM and the first place I went to was EV to check out the new line of powered speakers.

EV has a sound proof room with all the speakers in nearly every configuration in stereo with a 60 inch plasma for visuals inbetween the speakers.

There is a light show that highlights which speaker is being talked about on the plasma.

They played various styles of music through the speakers and an excellent subwoofer test. They even had a fog machine.

To be honest the new EV's sound excellent and they may not have lots of bells and whistles, but for a rock band they are perfect, IMHO.

I told one of the EV reps you have JBL beat by a $100 and QSC by $200 and a real winner.

And, the speakers have interior wood cabs!

That's a lot of speaker cab for the money.

EV hit a grand slam with the new line of speakers

MAP is $599 so what is the best price for on a pair and are they ready to ship today?

If I could answer that in a public forum, what would be the reason for MAP pricing?

So only a video and no actual speakers as of yet to hear live (no pun intended)?

The buzz at NAMM is they are exceptional speakers for the price point.

the 12" is only 41 lbs, and has a WOOD cabinet - it's gonna be hard to beat that for sound quality!
