Rack screw washer recommendations

Postby dokai » Sat Sep 18, 2010 11:50 pm

I frequently have a problem with the nylon washers "squeezing out" from under the screw head when I tighten down my rack screws, even though I'm not torquing on them that hard. I'm searching for a higher quality washer that won't deform so easily. Anyone out there have a brand they'd recommend?

I've just always used the ones that come with a new device or rack... but I've also purchase from Guitar Center and Musician's Friend. They all seem to be the same.

If they're deforming the first time you screw something in, you're probably over-torquing them. Your device should be firmly mounted, but doesn't need to screwed down super tight.

Thanks, CJ. Like I said, I don't think I'm over-tightening them, but I suppose I could be wrong.
