I'd skip both of those and go for EV's SxA360. Great sound, lots of power and light weight.
Thanks,

I'd say that you can't go wrong with ANY of these. The EVs are my personal choice, but I also have Mackie SRM 350s for my ceremony rig and they're awesome -- the 450's should be, too. I just heard the QSCs at the Mobile Beat Tour stop in Detroit and they are outstanding too. There is simply no bad choice between these three. Best to check out their SPL stats and prices and choose accordingly.

It all depends what you're looking for:
Lightest speaker?
Most Powerful?
Cheapest?
...

EV Sxa360
36 lbs
500 Watts
129 dB peak
$750

Mackie SRM450 v2
40 lbs
400 Watts
127 dB peak
$600

QSC K12
41 lbs
1000 Watts
131 dB peak
$800

IMHO, there's more to it than just spec numbers.

Mackie (Loud Technologies) has moved all manufacturing to China and the 450's do get harsh when pushed, I know, I used to own a bunch of them.

I don't know where the QSC offerings are made.

EV's SxA360's are made in America with the amp module coming from Germany. The 360's don't get harsh when pushed, they continue to offer the famous Electro Voice warm sound.

I've owned many EV speakers from the SX family and will vouch for all of them. You can't get better for anywhere near the money.

The K12 is a good sounding speaker, but not better than the EV, imho.

I really can't stand the sound of the SRM-450 speakers for longer than 30 minutes. The sound just isn't very musical and ear fatigue sets in quickly.

I'd listen to the K12 and the SXA-360, alone and with their matching subs. See which you like better.

I went with the JBL PRX 512m.

They had the best price (for me, as an insider): I paid about $650 apiece for them.

Only about 30 pounds each, they outperform the Eon 15 g2, despite being about 15 pounds lighter per cabinet, and being a 12" instead of a 15".

The sound is incredible, much better than the QSC K-series (made in China).

I guess we can add the JBL PRX512m to the list:

JBL PRX512m (Discontinued)
40 lbs
500 Watts
133 dB peak (what??? sounds fishy...)
$650

Current offering from JBL:

JBL PRX612M
34.5 lbs
1000 Watts
134 dB peak (???)
$700

So, who's heard and compared the PRX 612 and the KW12 to other boxes out there.

I need to buy more speakers soon. Now I have K10 and K12 boxes.

Will the PRX 612 or KW12 make a worth while difference over the K series above. If so in which way?

Go with the SxA360's you'll never regret the choice.

Bill, have you a/b the EV against the other boxes mentioned? I'm seeking real expeience not a spec sheet comparison. Dollar difference I don't care about. I just want the one with the best throw, loudness and fullest sound of the boxes mentioned.

I have A/B'd the SXA360 to the SRM450 and the 360 was the winner hands down. I have not yet heard any of the QSC offerings.

No surprise there. It's the other models that spike my interest before buying something.
